This includes installation
of:
- Zen Cart™
- Comparable to osCommerce and a lot of people consider
ZC a superior product.
- WordPress™ Blogs
- Why not just subscribe to a blog site? Read on!
- phpBB™ Forums
- You would be flatly amazed how including a forum into
certain websites can make them successful producers!
(It doesn't hurt business one bit either...)
- Wiki online
collaboration software - Kind of like that used on the Wikipedia
website. (Yes, I can install that software as a
stand-alone because that's the best fit for that
particular software package.)
These are different from the custom
solutions provided by CDMCSS.com as they represent
programs from a variety of other vendors.
The difference between the
way I install such software and the way an average website
designer would install the same package (except Wiki's) is
this:
The software is integrated
into the existing design of a website.
Okay, I don't expect you to
be a techie, so: What does integrated mean?
Go look at (just a couple of
quick examples; links launch a new window, close to return
here...):
Each program is part of the
website's design (that's what integration means..)
There are substantial
advantages to integrating such packages into a website's
design:
- Visitors are more likely
to pay attention to what a website says and stay on
the website longer. One thing visitors hate
is bouncing (for example) between a Blog and an actual
website.
- It looks more
professional. Remember this from Web
School?
Visitor's
subconsciously equate the quality of a website's
presentation with how that business or service does its
work. (Translation: Do the very best you can - or
else...)
- It preserves your
"branding." All the packages listed above are
designed to be installed (for the most part) as
stand-alone website programs.
Unfortunately, you are
"locked into" their design, which can look like
several hundred other websites. Integration
overcomes the potential limitation by allowing the unique
design of the website (your "brand") to be
preserved.
Please note:
I do not
charge for the software. The software is provided by
the publishers free of charge and both legally and
ethically I cannot charge for it.
I do
charge, however, for customization and setup. That is my
work and the only compensation I charge.
Installation is by quote
